This mod requires enabled "ChopChop's WH3: Assets" & new campaign.


This mod is expanding Warriors of Chaos settlements that aren't Dark Fortress (major & minor). It is aiming to bring Warriors of Chaos closer to building system of other factions in the game. The mod contains necessary rebalance of economy and growth in order to justify addition of expanded buildings and offer the player equally rewarding and challenging experience. This mod doesn't touch Norscan vassal mechanic, so you can use both options to develop your cities while not necessarily deal with incompetent allies in stretegic regions on the map. Enjoy!


  1. BUILDING SLOTS:
    • MAJOR: Dark Fortress - 8 slots (unchanged)
    • MAJOR: Fortified Altar - 8 slots / max tier 5
    • MINOR: Chaos Altar - 4 slots / max tier 3
  2. MILITARY & ECONOMY BUILDINGS
    • Full set of buildings added to both major & minor Altar
    • Buildings removed and effects moved to existing vanilla buildings (merge):
      - Twisted Relic -> Altar Income
      - Bleeding Grounds -> Exalted Hero
      - Ritual Hut -> Chaos Shrine
  3. ECONOMY REWORK:
    • Altar Income
      - 50% original value (max tier 500 gold)
      - factionwide effects (post-battle loot & income from sacking) moved to Dark Fortress building chain as intended vanilla restriction to Dark Fortress only
    • Altar Growth
      - 50% original value
    • Vassal Income
      - 25% original value

It was a new campaign and I didn't change other mods since beginning.

I agree. I usually don't use overhauls like that or turn them off when I'm not playing the faction. Too much interaction with other mods... But I forgot this time and I'm too far advanced to turn back. I'm curious if others have experienced the same issue. Anyway, thanks again for your great mod!

I think I found something... I was besieging Tor Anlec and had a choice to sack it for 27k or take the city. The 1st time I took it outright and the city became an lvl 0 ruin unable to be upgraded. I reloaded to test the issue and sacked it instead. When I came back to take the sacked city, it was a chaos altar as intended. Maybe the problem is when a city is very valuable, the building conversion made by the mod isn't working?
I also tried to abandon the other ruins and take them back, but it seems once you make a city bug this way it's irreversible.

Thanks for pointing out the incompatible mod :steamthumbsup: I myself don't use the Mortau's Godslayer overhaul due to vast incompatibilities with *a lot* of mods and unfortunately for it - i use usually around 200+ mods so i gave up on it. I would suggest to play the Mortau's Godslayer overhaul only as player and without extra overhauls on top to experience what Mortrau cooked for Daniel, but when playing other factions - disable :steamsad:

Yes I do, then I suspect another mod has an interaction. I use no other mod changing WoC settlements, the only one I see is Mortau's Godslayer overhaul which I forgot to turn down. Anyway, if it works for you the problem is on my end. Thank you for answering and testing!

Thank you for this great mod, totally will be in my permanent mod list. I would, however, point out that some major cities are captured as ruins and can't be built anyhow. I went to Naggaroth with Be'lakor and both Ghrond and Hag Graef are concerned.
