描述

URG-I, which stands for "Upper Receiver Group Improved", is a 2017 U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) upgrade project of the current SOPMOD II. URG-I does not purchase a new gun, instead it's an upper cartridge conversion kit, which consists of a standard M4/M4A1 upper cartridge fitted with Geissele MK16 rail fender with Picatini rails at the top, M-LOK interfaces at the left and right sides and bottom, and DD GOV barrels. Although the project was initiated by USASOC, users include the Army's Special operations forces (Green Berets and Rangers, excluding Delta) and the Navy's Special operations forces (excluding DEVGRU).
