This Mod adds the Swedish Navy's HKP-4B and HKP-4C helicopters to Sea Power.

The Helikopter 4 (HKP-4B) is the Swedish designation for the Boeing Vertol CH-46 Sea Knight used by the Swedish Navy (Svenska Marinen) for transport, SAR and anti-submarine warfare with a dipping sonar, two torpedoes and six depth charges (not portrayed in the game).

The Swedish HKP 4s saw action further to the famous cold war "Whiskey on the rocks" incident during which a Soviet Whiskey-class submarine ran aground near Karlskrona where the Swedish Navy was performing top secret testings of a new torpedo, the Torpedo Type 42 (Torped 42), that had been specifically developed for ASW.
This incident was generally seen as a proof of widespread Soviet infiltration of the Swedish coastline and prompted the Swedish armed forces to deploy the HKP-4s for an intensive submarine hunting which took place in the Hårsfjärden fjord between 1st and 13th October 1981.

This reskin + kitbash of the CH-46 features the iconic Swedish Splinter Camo livery and the olive drab one.

This version comes with 2 new liveries including a low viz one (see latest screenshots).

Due to kitbashing (and my own skills) limitations the FLIR and rescue winch models are not 100% accurate. The rescue winch is (of course) non-functional.

Information about the Swedish Navy's equipement of the Cold War is rather scarse. Most sources indicate the HKP-4s had a HS-73 dipping sonar with a range of 5.6 km...and that's all. So, I used the AQS-13E specs by default except for the range reduced to 5.6 km. Likewise there is very little information available about the Torped 42 (and it's air-launched version the Torped 422) except it had a max speed of 25 knots and had a larger warhead than the Mk-46. So in game terms the Torped 42 is slower, but does more damage than the Mk-46. The HKP-4C had a rear-mounted radar, which was deployed by lowering the rear ramp (which is not allowed by the game engine at the moment).

This mod has been tested and is running perfectly on my computer (i7-11800H @ 2.30 Ghz - 16 GB RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050) with no other mod enabled. However, since they are as many computer configurations than computer users, it's unfortunately impossible to guarantee it will work on yours.
Be aware that by installing mods for Sea Power, you are modifying your game experience from the original intended product which is still, at this mod's release date, in EARLY ACCESS. Therefore, later game updates/patches may cause this mod to be deprecated. Although it is unlikely, the presence of other enabled mods might cause conflicts, and the more enable mods on your computer, the greater the chance of conflict. So, to sum it up, USE MODS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
If you wish to clean uninstal this mod make sure to follow these steps: 1) Uncheck this mod in the mod manager. 2) Click on Accept. 3) Unsubscribe. Then make sure the mod's file is no longer in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1286220 folder.
