Highlight Bounty NPCs

IMPORTANT
For this mod to work, you need the Budget NPC Highlight: Core mod, it adds the items that this mod will use to create the 'Highlight' effect.

Mod Informaton

This mod adds the Angel Halo visual effect to all Vanilla NPCs that have a 100% chance to spawn with a bounty, such as the Bugmaster. A full list will be available in the Discussion tab. I may have mistakenly included NPCs that do not spawn (e.g., "White Eyebrow"). Please let me know if you find any.

Limitations
  • This mod adds a belt slot item to the NPCs. This means if an NPC already has an item in their belt slot, they won't get the halo effect. I didn't want to replace their existing belt slot item because I didn't want to change what the mod creators intended for that character, etc.
  • I've said it already, but only NPCs that have a 100% chance to have a bounty will get this item. This means there are plenty of other NPCs that can have a bounty and won't be marked. Consider this list a useful goal if you play as a bounty hunter or something.

Compatibility

  • A new game or a save import is required. NPCs will receive the halo visual effect as an item added to their belt/clothing inventory.

  • I used assets from the Angel Halo mod, but I did not use their .phs file. I wanted to avoid requiring users to manually move files into the Kenshi/mods folder, as I am a fan of the simple "subscribe, import, and play" method.

  • The base concept for using a hidden belt item comes from this mod: Support Drone (Belt slot/Backpack). Thanks to that creator for the inspiration!

  • If anyone has a better solution for marking the NPC without the unintended lantern, please feel free to share. I don't mind adding a better fix, but trust me, I spent way too much time on this one edit (Doesn't mean it's hard, just hard for me) I am not a graphics modder, and this was my first time ever starting Blender!

Known Issues
  • Visual: Because of the method used, the NPCs also have a small lantern on their hip. I wanted the light effect, but the lantern wasn't the intended one.
  • Visual: The halo may not appear natural if the NPC runs around with a weapon or something like that, but my goal was a good visual Mark, could be fixed with someone better with meshes and such, so not me :P


Notes
  • The Screenshots are not from Vanilla NPCs; those NPCs are from a mod, which is the next addon I will add.
  • If you spot issues, feel free to post them!

Yea, I wanted to play as a bouny hunter, and the NPC highlight is such a frequent requested feature..

Maybe one day we will get it with re_kenshi, but until then I made a budget version myself.

I also have private version for now with one for all unique NPCs and one with all unique recruits.
