My favorite hotkey from Factorio, implemented for Terraria.

When the hotkey is pressed, you will equip the wall/tile/object under your cursor if it is in your inventory. Makes building very comfy.

Additionally, a secondary hotkey is also added that equips the tool needed to break whatever is under your cursor. You may never need to have tools in your hotbar ever again.

This is already in the game. This is part of the Smart Cursor settings. Does this version work differently, or like...
