描述


An extensive remake of over 400+ various Decals, Signs, Digital signs and many more in higher resolutions [1k, 2k & 4k respectively] to freshen up the aging textures in a more comprehensive HD style, all lovingly recreated as faithfully as possible to their original source materials



Conception
This mod started out as a simple vector design practice 3 months back, with the intent on replacing some smaller textures like Tram Decals (as seen in Improved Tram Decals).
That's why (again) I felt there was a disparity between the game's own artstyle and the now more than a decade old sign textures, even more so by the lack of mods to fill in that gap, only ones being AI-upscaled "HD" textures that mostly drown out the details.

Development
Development started not too long ago after Improved Tram Decals' initial release 2 months back, with the intent on replacing some one-off signs here and there, that's when one of the HECU Collective members (LIL-PIF) reached out and provided some valuable feedback (even offering some of his tools for my use case), then the project really started picking up steam

The end result being more than 400+ redone textures, all done by hand (from detailing to text, to painstakingly recreating complex shapes and sizes) whilst not falling back once onto AI Upscaling tools, which most mods used to get away with back in the day.

Features
  • Over 400+ remade textures from the ground up in 1k, 2k and 4k resolutions respectively
  • Improved all of the in-game Notice, Warning, Caution and Danger signs
  • Retextures to some digital signs (seen in AM and QE respectively)
  • New Keypad and Retinal Scanners textures (with readable text this time)
  • Redone OAR Launch Control Lift Panel
  • New Canteen Menu Texture (because why not)
  • New Door Textures for Blast Pit, inspired by some of BM:BS' dev materials
  • Scientifically Accurate™ aerospace terms on some signs in BP
  • Fixed multiple spelling mistakes (i.e. "fire extingusher" -> "extinguisher")
  • Improvements to various metal signs seen throughout the game

Installation
Installation is as simple as subscribing & playing, no further steps required :)
- The mod also includes a test map if you want to see all of the redone decals for yourself before playing as seen in the first couple of pics above
(should be named signsdisplay.bsp)

Installation Disclaimer
- For custom campaigns (i.e. Further Data), you'll need to subscribe to this mod first due to how the BM workshop priority system works

Known Issues
Due to the nature of how some maps handle texture overlays, some signs *may* appear out of scale - that's unfortunately a map limitation and can't be rectified without some extensive map editing (UC Coolant Valve Rooms being the worst offenders)
But other than that, most signs are rendered at a nice 1k/2k resolution at the correct texture scale
- Lambda Core's background map has 2 out of scale textures, however they should look fine in-game

The mod should be compatible with most main campaign mods (Chapter Overhauls, BMS Classic... etc)
- Partial support for Blue Shift, with a more comprehensive version coming out sometime in the next 3-4 months
- Hazard Course & Further Data are also partially supported, but some scaling issues may occur (as aforementioned above)

Good catch, must've slipped through the cracks while I was fixing the .vmt files for final release

the "lambda_pump_station_02_orange.vmt" has it's decal scale set to 0.0625 when the decal scale should be 0.125 as seen on "lambda_pump_station_01_blue.vmt"

Looks fantastic, but shouldn't there be a final period after the "P" in "SILO D C.O.M.P" at the end of the description?

I didn't previously, but it looks like I had followed 95% of their outlined design code
