描述
⚙️ Engineer Skill Rework – Bot Upgrades & Onslaught Improvements

TLDR: Bots now can be summoned in greater quantity, have no duration, they fight till die, and better Jump skill (Onslaught)

Onslaught (Jump / Leap)
  • + Increased jump range
  • + Can jump over obstacles
  • - Higher cooldown

Why the changes:
Think of it as the Engineer’s version of the Embermage’s Teleport. These tweaks make the jump more realistic and helpful — you can now leap over cliffs, rivers, and short “non-passable” terrain instead of taking long detours.

Known issue:
If you jump into obstacles instead of over them, you might get stuck. Check the map and jump out to fix.
I also tested double-jumps with a low cooldown (works even across long gaps), but reverted it for balance reasons.



🤖 Healing Bot
  • + Now persists through game restarts and portals

🕷️ Spider Mines
  • + Duration is now permanent (until they die or the master dies)
  • + Maximum summons increased to 30
  • + Lower cooldown for smoother summoning (from 3-1.6s to 1s all ranks)
  • - Damage reduced (about 50% weaker)

🔫 Gun Bot
  • + Can summon up to 3 at a time
  • + Duration is now permanent (until they die or the master dies)
  • - Can now be targeted and killed (since duration was removed)
  • - Movement speed reduced
  • - Damage reduced (now 70% of original)

Known issue:
They appear headless and unable to attack after restarting the game (portals are fine).
Summoning new ones fixes the issue.
I could “fix” this by making them die on portal use, but I prefer keeping them persistent.

🔨 Sledgebot
  • + Duration is now permanent (until they die or the master dies)
  • + Can summon up to 3 (1 / 2 / 2 / 3 per tier)
  • + Increased size (visual only, may or may not affect AoE)
  • - More vulnerable to damage

🧲 Immobilization Copter
  • + Now persists through game restarts and portals
  • + Can summon up to 3
  • - Debuff effects are slightly weaker (33% less effective on speed debuffs, Electric dmg and Interupt chance stay the same)


⚠️ Potential Bugs
  • If any bot stops functioning correctly, summoning new ones always fixes the problem (temporary workaround).

@ Torchlight2 Plus : So true, all the more motive to make Minion Classes that much more intriguing to play on the modded side and with more powerful rigs today. :Emo_1_Happy:

@Steffire: I think the creators of the game went for lesser minion heavy build options to prevent lagging when the game is played on older devices. For modders they made it pretty doable to add more of them.

Mind having this mods amount of minions running in windows XP/vista in the 2013's with 3 of this engineers ;P
A lot of players (like me) did play this game in that time on lower end computers/laptops.

@ (author) : Engineer is one of the only vanilla classes that enables a squad of uniquely summoned members. Outlander only gets the Brute other than the passive Shadowlings.
Will be very insightful to pair this with Skulls of Joskin or Umbarmun to get the +25% or +35% increase to Minion Damage.
Perhaps one of the Engineer passive skills could be retrofitted with Minion Affixes per investment.
Minion Master play-styles are naturally lacking in TL2 vanilla - small changes from modding could make a huge difference.

First: Very Clean and Clear description of the mod.

Onslaught now has more the D2 barb Leap quality's. The way Torchlights game engine handles it is a bit of. It's indeed possible to jump small rivers (what feels very natural!) but also jump into mountains or into the Void :P If u can ignore and live with that than it's really nice. Otherwise it's also nice to explore some normal unreachable area's!

Also nice to have extra bots, summoner builders would appreciate that!
