SOMBRERITO IS HERE!

A mod that completely redesigns Hat Kid, giving her a new and improved look, while also fixing several issues that the original version had. This mod, for just a playable character, is highly customizable and has support for many dyes, costumes, and other quality-of-life mods!

This mod comes with:
  • A brand new playable character! (you can find her in the mail room)
  • New outfit: Troupial Dress
  • New flair for the Dweller mask: Troupial Mask (+ expressions!)
  • Custom death animation
  • Custom ice statue
  • Support for all dyes, outfits and flairs from the base-game & DLCs
  • Support for the Punk Set outfit, and all other items from Vanessa's Curse

You can also change her hairstyle from the mod's config menu!
  • Ponytail (Default)
  • Punk (Twintails)
  • Hatsune Miku's hairstyle
  • Kasane Teto's hairstyle

This playable is also designed to support modded cosmetics! Here are some mods it officially supports:

People who worked on this project:
  • Jox: In charge of Sombrerito's redesign, 3D modeling, mesh weight painting, texture creation, 2D animations, 3D animations, expression design, visual proposals, and adapting hats and outfits to the new model (and the main person in charge of making UnDrew suffer).
  • UnDrew: In charge of all the programming, materials, dyeability, support for Online Party and other mods, testing, bug fixing, and mainly responsible for putting the pieces together and giving life to Sombrerito.

@Jphnnyb Thanks for your comment. I was motivated to create it because I often draw Hat Kid, so I thought I could create a model in my own style, the way I usually draw her. The name "Sombrerito" was mainly the mod's internal name and a Latin American joke, like "El Prisas" (Sonic) or "Carlos el Topo que Gira" (Crash). They're just meme names, but "Sombrerito" was more of a term of endearment than a meme. Since we'd been using that name for months while we looked for another, we ended up getting attached to it, and that's how it stayed.

Hey I love this playable it truly feels like an upgrade from classic hat kid. I never like to stew drama or anything and I sure hope no one throws shade to someone who was just try to create something for the game they love, but I do remember of this other playable that aimed to do something just like this but it got a lot of hate for how the model looked. Knowing this, what made you want to make this model? I've got a different unrelated question, Why is this playable called Sombrerito aka "Little Hat".

@misakier el traje de persona 5 es nada mas un traje por lo que no hay que hacer ninguna compatibilidad, creo que la mascara entra bien en el personaje

Yeah uh... just spoke with the doctors. Apparently I passed away due to extreme amounts of cute.
The mod was so good it legit sent me to the hospital.

You hit the nail on the head. We had another name for it, but we ended up getting attached to it, using the name "Sombrerito" since that was the internal name. The decision was made because the one we originally had was too generic. We wanted to be a little different. In case you're curious, the names we would use would be "Hat Kid remake, Hat Kid reimagining"

Is it true that Hat Kid is called "Sombrerito" because of a meme that spread in the Hispanic community? Something like "El Prisas" for Sonic or "Carlos el topo que gira" for Crash Bandicoot.
