Arsenal of Destruction

描述
AOD, or Arsenal of Destruction, is a personal passion/hobby project for Unity of Command 2 based off of a HOI4 game I played years ago. This mod covers a fictional campaign covering the first year of the invasion of the USSR. The invasion was launched in May rather than June, due to the continuation war starting early (Soviets invaded a second time). More emphasis was placed on the southern front, where 2 Panzer Armies were allocated to turn the Lwow region into a massive pocket.

For additional information, look in your workshop files for UoC2 (.../workshop/content/809230) for the "3589460268" folder. Inside there you can find a WIP manual I drafted up along with a "unit sheet" excel which has every unit and specialist type currently in the mod.

This mod was tested on Classic and all the scenarios are beatable on Classic in standalone, although some are pretty hard. For a more enjoyable experience try on Normal. Easy was modified to be extremely easy so I could test bugs/AI hints in the scenarios, it's not really mean to be played on.

If there are any major issues, bugs, missing text anywhere, or something just straight-up doesn't work, please post a comment here! I've tested this a bunch on my own but I've never publicly released this in any way or had others test it out.

Features:
- Entirely redone units, specialists, and nationalities.
- 28-scenario campaign covering the eastern front from May-December 1941.
- Extended zoom and colored status symbols.
- New music unique to the campaign.
- As the campaign progresses, the sun begins to set. It moves further down with each conference.

2025-10-26 Update:
- Croatian forces rework: Changed models/textures of Croatian units in the mod.
- Winter units: Towards the end of the campaign, units will switch to their winter variants.
- Soviet late armor: Soviet T-34s get swapped out for T-26 light tanks in later scenarios, reflecting the annihilation of their major armored formations.
- Prep Store: Changed the unit store for preparation phases. Everything is a bit cheaper so you can actually start replacing forces on higher difficulties.
- "2nd Tula" Standalone Scenario: Follow up to the "Tula" scenario from the campaign. You play as the Soviets and need to encircle the 2nd Panzer Army at Tula and prevent their reinforcements from relieving them.
- "Fire in the Donets Basin" Standalone Scenario: Taking place after the "Into Donbas" scenario in the campaign, the Soviets are about to attack Axis allied forces in the Donbas. You need to mount a mobile defense using German reinforcements, and allied mobile units.

Coming Soon:
- Additional standalone scenario as a follow-up to "Disaster in Karelia" in the Campaign

DLC Requirements:
This mod uses models from nearly all of the DLCs. None of the mesh files are included in the mod files however, so if you do not own the DLCs the game will crash.

Compatibility Notice:
The units, specialists, nationalities, and music in this mod is 100% separate from the base game minus the dependency on 3D models from the DLCs. Installing this mod will not conflict with the vanilla game or any DLC in that manner. This mod does however modify some of the config files- which does conflict with the base game and other mods.

Any other mod you have installed that modifies the constants, game, planes, or config/ui/sheets/unit yml files will conflict with this one.

Credit where it is due:
- Daniel_efc for his colored status symbols mod that I've integrated into this one. The game is basically unplayable for me now without it!
- Spiffy_King for his Greco-Italian War "micro" campaign which I used as a guide to see how campaign modding is done. Seeing modded campaigns were possible is what gave me true inspiration and hope for this project!
- Paradox Interactive for the wonderful music in HOI3 and 2, and for HOI4.
- Muzzy Lane/Factus Games for the Making History series which got me into strategy games, I also took music from there.
- Matrix Games for the Operational Art of War series which got me obsessed with strategy games, I also took music from the 4th game
- TheLastSterling over on the UoC2 discord, who inspired me to start modding unit textures myself. I was never able to properly import custom models, otherwise literally every vehicle in this mod would be, but he inadvertently taught me how to retexture them at least.
- The entire UoC2 dev team which have made such an awesome game. Regardless of how much fun I've had playing it, I've had equally as much fun tinkering with it and finding what is moddable and what isn't.

Also it's called Arsenal of Destruction as a play on "Arsenal of Democracy" because I thought it sounds cool, and also I love AOD (The HOI2 game)

@all: Just updated the mod, and the campaign should be fixed now properly showing the Tula scenario, and also allowing you to "complete" it, but you'll just see the Victory in the West medal as I never modded in a custom medal. I included some new stuff as well, which I'll document in the the workshop description shortly

@IronPump: To change the German infantry back to the original base-game model and texture, go to "base/assets/models/" and find the ger_inf_42_meta yml file. Open up the ger_inf_41_aod_meta yml file as well, and simply replace everything inside my mod's file with what's in the original game file. This will replace the model and texture all at once back to the regular German infantry model with long sleeves, and its the base game mesh/texture so there shouldn't be any issues.

Hi TehBoss,

i try to mod the german Infantery models by myself i figured it out how to change the Mesh From Spanish to German. But i can´t change the Texture file when i try it then the game is crashing. Can you help me?

Ok I figured out the issue, I had Tula in the campaign but forgot to have it show on the campaign map. Going to test the campaign to make sure my fix worked, and then upload an update

Thanks for letting me know! I'll dig around and see what's bugging it out. Only Bryansk, Tula, and Kursk-Belgorod are in the final conference so there shouldn't be any missions left, but it should let you progress to "complete" the campaign.

Very cool campaign.
But I think I got a bug. I cant finish the campaign. After the Kursk mission I cant go to next conference but there are no missions left
