"Napalm Launcher? Too common. Why don't we make an Acid Launcher instead, like what a mad scientist does...?"


This idea actually came just after I had finished making "Deadly Acid" mod. However, I didn't have time to finish it as I was still busy. & finally, I made it.


So, this mod allows any weapons registered to the cfg file to have "Acid Launcher" installed. Imagine having m203, but instead of exploding, it spreads acid on the ground.


This mod has 2 cfg files:
  1. "acid launcher.txt": This is the main cfg file. This contains the main features.
    • acid_launcher_user: Who can use "Acid Launcher" (bots/ players/ all). For bots, they have 10% chance to shoot "Acid Launcher" on each shot with the registered weapons.

    • acid_launcher_damage_per_tick: The damage per 0.5 second when stepping on acid. It's only applied to zombies. Min= 1, max= no limit.

    • acid_launcher_shot_count: How many shots until Acid GL ammo is obtained.

    • semi_bile_acid: When enabled, common infected nearby will run to where acid launcher explodes.

    • bot_forced_acid_evasion: When it's set above 0, bots will be pushed back when they're in acid radius. The value affects how far the forced pushback is. (Recommended value= from 50 to 100).

  2. "registered weapon.txt": This is to register the weapons you want to install "Acid Launcher". Medkit & defib are excluded. Examples:
    weapon_pistol = 1 weapon_sniper_awp = 1 fireaxe.mdl = 1 katana.mdl = 1

  3. Chat Command:
    - get item model= check the item model of the weapon you're holding (to register it to "registered weapon.txt").


Mechanisms of "Acid Launcher":
  • When certain weapons are registered to "registered weapon.txt" & then you pick the registered weapons, the "Acid Launcher" will be installed on the weapons.

  • The registered weapons can be in weapon classname, like "weapon_pistol", "weapon_smg" etc, or the model name ("fireaxe.mdl", "crowbar.mdl" etc). The names must be correct, or they won't work.

  • Medkit, defib, & throwables are excluded, so you can't install "Acid Launcher" on those items.

  • "Acid Launcher" cam be installed on melee & chainsaw, but it will have 1 second of cooldown before the next use of "Acid Launcher". This cooldown doesn't affect the melee & chainsaw attack speed.

  • "Acid GL Ammo" will be obtained when shooting/ attacking with registered weapons. How many shots until "Acid GL Ammo" is obtained is controlled by "acid_launcher_shot_count".

  • When you have at least 1 "Acid GL Ammo", hold E (Use) & then attack/ shoot to launch "Acid Launcher".

  • "Acid GL Ammo" is shared with other registered weapons.

  • "Acid Launcher" will spread acid once it hits any objects.

  • Shooting "Acid Launcher" will cause reduced attack speed until next attack (attack delay).

  • Next "Acid Launcher" can be shot only after the previous "Acid GL projectile" explodes & spreads acid.

  • Zombies & objects in radius of acid will take damage every 0.5 second. The damage is controlled by "acid_launcher_damage_per_tick".

  • Common infected will dissolve instantly, while witch will stumble when stepping on acid. Special have 20% chance to stumble, while tank has 10% chance.

  • The friendlyfire damage on survivors follow the original acid damage, so the longer survivors step on it, the more damage will be inflicted.


So, now, you have another alternative for molotov with this mod. You can also play "baseball" by smashing the "Acid GL projectile" with melee :D .


NOTES:
  • Grenade launcher weapon is not recommended to be registered as "Acid Launcher", because it will launch 2 projectiles instead (the original & "Acid Launcher" projectile), & there's a chance that one of the projectiles hits the other one & causes explosion & acid before they reach the target.

  • The sparks on the animated previews are from other mod.

  • The electric GL projectile is from "Tesla Prototype" mod.
