Have you ever thought moving cargo was too easy?
no?
Well here is a mod anyway.

Logistics Lock, Timed Interlocks for Cargo Pods
Make detachable ore pods and freight containers meaningful. Logistics Locks enforces a timed interlock whenever two container grids connect, preventing instant undocking and encouraging realistic cargo handoffs without changing how items move inside a grid.

What it does
  • Tags Grids as either Cargo or Vehicles, any grid with anything bigger than a small grid small cargo will be tagged as a cargo grid

  • Enforces timed "Logistic interlocks" when two grids tagged as cargo connect via connector, that connector pair will enter a Locked state and won't unlock unlock until the lock timer expires, which is based off the cargo volume of the smaller grid. Grids without cargo containers can lock and unlock unaffected

  • If a LCD has [Logi_timer] in the name it will show the status of the longest lock currently affecting the grid

  • If a LCD has [Logi_status] in the name, the LCD will display either Red or Green depending on if the container has any existing locks

  • And its all configurable, the mod generates a config file in the save's storage folder where you can change the Base lock time, lock time per KL of capacity, max and minimum lock times.

Love this idea. I'm wondering if it's possible for a timer to be created for the interlock length that is incremented per item transferred between the grids rather than a flat lock timer.

I was looking for something like this for long time, definitely going to try it!
Too bad we can't have something more authentic like actually limited flow rate of cargo through conveyors.
