After the events of normal mode,

Thieves were wiped out by a new species, the Kobold, which closely resembled them, making it easy for a takeover such as this. The Kobolds took their land, hunting trolls as a hobby, but perhaps something infected them from within...

The ninth character in my Insane Mode line of characters, the Thief, now found as the Kobold!
