The D-9 series was Arcanum’s answer to the demand for a tireless, fearless, and brutally efficient infantry unit. Built for mass deployment and sustained warfare, these machines don’t tire, don’t hesitate, and sure as hell don’t retreat. They exist to fight, kill, and repeat.

After the Rogue AI taked over the valley, the D-9s, like all Arcanum constructs, got hostile and very violent towards all humans. Unlike the C-12 models, however, they didn’t descend into theatrical insanity, they remained focused, ruthless, and efficient.

D-9s absolutely despise C-12s. They see them as over-engineered, fragile, and worst of all, stupid. While D-9s were built for raw efficiency and battlefield endurance, C-12s were designed with “higher cognitive function” and “adaptive AI”, which, in a D-9 opinion, just means they're a glorified toaster with a personality disorder and obsessed with human bullsht.

The D-9 Barrel Bot is a bot who wears a large barrel stolen from Arcanum Logistics, packed with around 6 pieces of dynamite. They've been seen in use to quickly take down structures by placing the barrel at the base and detonating with their trigger, or straight up running into the enemy and taking the whole area and themselves.
