描述
XCom Materials
This mod adds some materials from the games XCom: UFO Defense and XCom: Terror from the Deep, it's mainly to be used with my ship design mod linked below:


Features
  • Alien Alloys - Slightly worse than Plasteel, purple colour, can be "Smelted" at an Electric Smelter for the cost of 50 Stone Blocks to get 40 Alien Alloys (mimicing in the OG game how you can just build them)
  • Aqua Plastics - Again slightly worse than Plasteel, but way better cold insulation and does good amount of blunt damage , can be "Smelted" at an Electric Smelter for the cost of 50 Stone Blocks to get 40 Aqua Plastics (mimicing in the OG game how you can just build them)
  • Elerium-115 - Rare item that can be found from exotic traders or quest rewards, only useful to build the Sectoid Thrusters from the XCom Gravships mod
  • Zrbite - Rare item that can be found from exotic traders or quest rewards, only useful to build the Ion-Beam Accelerators from the XCom Gravships mod

Mod Compatibility
The materials are both metallic and stony, so should be able to be used by any mod that works with those material types automatically

Known Issues
  • None yet !


The Point Of This Mod
You can't have XCom ships without the colours of the hulls being correct and the Elerium and Zrbite just came after that

Future Plans
  • Patch some of the other XCom mods out there to use these materials to build them
  • Add better ways to retrieve Elerium and Zrbite from somewhere, For now channel your inner XCom commander, download Gravship Crashes and loot alien ships for parts ! Can now find both rarely on Odyssey Asteroids in orbit ! Thanks to Leutian Kane for the suggestion.

Add your resource to work sites and deep drilling if you want as well as odyssey asteroids.

a little addendum to my previous comment, i did find that you can use elerium/zrbite as a material but it kinda sucks as one. I feel like it might be good for weapons somehow but idk how. Real idea though is the idea of a patch that makes it usable as astrofuel for vanilla gravships expanded

omg i def need this, although this plus the earlier conversation does remind me how inconsistently colored alien alloys were; you definitely have the floor color down pat but the alien alloy walls don't match the alien ship walls by far. It's a fine color for sure it just matches the Personal Armor and such rather than UFO hulls. I wonder if you could make some kind of variant walls that are more like a lighter version of the flooring color, similar to how...i think it's Vanilla Furniture Expanded? Something makes different wood variant colors at least for flooring.

Also it sounds like Elerium/Zrbite aren't useful *at all* except for the gravship mod? Is it not a usable material for weapons and such? Because i think it should be

Arcjc, Thanks, that was annoying, i always had to make a stockpilezone around the ones
i found, so i would not forget about them as they lay distributed around the map at far away
places.
Now it works as it should :o)

Can make and use the alien alloys but they don't seem to be storable in storage or stockpile zones, can anyone else confirm?

excuse me, i just didint play in an while and i kinda forgot about that
but on the image the hull of the craft is white purplish and not fully purple

That's the image I pulled the colour from, I literally did a colour picker on that and used the rounded values, there's no way to get it to have the proper gradient that it does in the original game so have to just pick a colour from the wall somewhere, that's why the tiles are lighter so it could be more like the floor tiles in game.

if i recall the ufopedia picture and craft hulls are more sliver colored

They are in the original game, I literally did a colour pick from the game on my own PC.
