How to Clear Shader Cache
1. Restart your PC

2.
AMD GPU
- open Adrenalin

- go to Global Gaming Experience -> Gaming -> Reset Shader Cache

Nvidia GPU
- go Nvidia Control Panel -> Global 3D Settings -> disable Shader Cache Size

3. WIN+R => enter "cleanmgr" and confirm -> confirm deletion of all junk files including DirectX cache

4. Restart your PC

5.
AMD GPU
- you are already done if you use Adrenalin

Nvidia GPU
- delete all deletable contents of C:\Users\Your_Windows_Username\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache especially the very large files

(just select all, then delete and skip the files which cannot be deleted)

(for easy access copy & paste this into your Windows Explorer address bar %localappdata%\NVIDIA\DXCache )

- set shader cache size in Nvidia Control Panel to 100 GB

- restart your PC

Keep in Mind
When you start the game with a freshly built shader cache, you may experience some initial stuttering.

These are temporary and will stop happening sooner rather than later.
As a rule of thumb, the game should have improved after a few minutes of play.

Bonus Tip: Quick Clear Shader Cache
AMD users have it very easy, but Nvidia users have to take a few extra steps.

You can shorten this process by using a tool that only requires a single double-click to deal with the shader cache for you. This works regardless of whether you are using an AMD or Nvidia GPU.

After the first patch of Borderlands 4 that tool became one of the most downloaded items on the website, speaking for its sheer effectiveness.
