알라모사우루스 산후아넨시스는 백악기 후기(약 7,000만~6,600만 년 전)에 북미에서 살았던 대형 용각류 공룡으로, 북미에서 발견된 유일한 대형 용각류입니다. 길이는 약 15~20m, 체중은 10~20톤으로 추정되며, 초식성으로 식물의 잎과 가지를 먹었습니다. 두개골은 비교적 작고 목은 길며, 꼬리는 강력하고 깁니다. 미국 뉴멕시코주와 텍사스주에서 발견되었으며, 속명 Alamosaurus는 멕시코의 Alamo Creek에서, 종명 산후아넨시스는 뉴멕시코주의 San Juan Basin에서 유래했습니다. 이 공룡은 북미 대륙에서 마지막으로 번성한 용각류로, 백악기 후기 생태계를 이해하는 데 중요한 역할을 합니다.




Alamosaurus sanjuanensis was a large sauropod dinosaur that lived in North America during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70–66 million years ago. It is the only large sauropod discovered in North America. Estimated to reach lengths of 15–20 meters and weigh 10–20 tons, it was herbivorous, feeding on leaves and branches. It had a relatively small skull, a long neck, and a strong, long tail. Fossils were found in New Mexico and Texas, with the genus name Alamosaurus derived from Alamo Creek in Mexico and the species name sanjuanensis from the San Juan Basin in New Mexico. This dinosaur represents one of the last thriving sauropods in North America and plays an important role in understanding the Late Cretaceous ecosystem.
