This mod adds a dedicated close-in weapons system that can shoot down incoming shells and drop pods.

A brief overview of the content added by this pack


This mod also slows down incoming drop pods so that CIWS turrets actually have time to shoot them down.

@ClothingLotus you probably have a mod adding its own incoming drop pod variant for one reason or another, keep both enabled

In the CIWS gizmo menu, there's multiple drop pods (incoming) option, which should I be enabling? Nice mod

dude how thick do you have to be to think ''I'm having performance problems that go away when I disable combat extended's ciws feature... oh I know! it's probably caused by the pure xml mod that's a very dry implementation of a ciws turret!''

Sorry, but when I tried to install the mod, my tps suffered a lot when a large amount of drop pods are falling. My game almost froze in place with almost 900 mspt, which is abnormal as my game with CE CIWS functioned normally without this mod. I uninstalled the mod, yet the tps problem persisted. I could only solve the problem by turning off the CIWS feature in CE.
There is no related error logs in my log. I tried to analyze it with Dub's Performance Analyzer, and it pointed out that Rimworld.DropPodIncoming.doTick ticked most ms. Could you please tell me if there any solutions for me other than reverting back to the old save where I didn't install this mod?

Is it possible to make this to work without CE? Or that's impossible?

@TheVanguardKing yeah the ciws system is not very good. I posted about this in the ce server but ciws seems to be a bit neglected and even with things like turret accuracy cranked up, it struggles to get hits. this is even worse without this mod's tweak to pod speeds, ciws guns straight up don't work with vanilla speeds because pods take like two seconds to land
I'm not aware of any mods that actually utilize the system and try to make it work somewhat, that's why I made this. if any updates to the ciws system are made, I'll update this mod to bring things up to par

It's cool, and I love it, but it's not very effective. I'm only getting about 2.5 pod kills per turret on a drop, for about 30% of their ammo capacity.

I don't know what to say. I shared a lot of the development process in the combat extended discord, there's a lot of screenshots and even some videos of it in action. it can shoot down pods just fine and I obviously can't do anything with a vague 'turkler it no worky'
