Who is Splashzone?
Splashzone is a Ripper enforcer you hit during the main quest Recruitment Drive in the Fadefields. He fights like a psycho specialist who lives for close range, closing gaps and slamming the ground with a mechanized arm that spikes damage if you let him sit on top of you. The arena sits inside a tight encampment, with short ledges and clutter that reward smart spacing. This fight is a pace check: hold distance, punish his whiffs, clear the trash on your terms.

Where Can I Find Splashzone in Borderlands 4?
Go to Riptide Grotto, a bandit camp on the southern coast of the Coastal Bonescape in the Fadefields. Fast travel to the Abandoned Post safehouse, head east toward the ponds, then cut south and drop into the grotto. That route puts you right on the camp door without wandering the shoreline. After the kill, you’ll get guided into the glide pack sequence to exit the beach and continue the campaign.

You can refight him immediately later by paying Moxxi’s Big Encore machine near the arena entrance, which makes early farming painless when you want his drops before moving deeper into Kairos.

How to Beat Splashzone?
  1. Open at mid range, not long range. In this space he commits to a forward rush or a telegraphed slam rather than dancing, which gives you predictable punish windows. If he raises the oversized arm, strafe across him, not straight back, then step in with a fast mag dump before he recovers. The encampment has ledges you can hop to reset spacing if he sticks to you for more than two beats. Keep that loop tight: bait, sidestep, burst, reposition.

  2. Adds spawn in scrappy waves. Clear them quickly if they block your sightlines, but try to leave one weak target alive so you have a Second Wind if something goes sideways. Use the explosive barrels tucked around the camp for quick room control, especially when a bomber runs in from the side path. Watch the edges. It’s easy to kite yourself off a drop if you panic while gliding between platforms.

  3. His health type is flesh, so Incendiary is the cleanest answer if you have it. Kinetic and Cryo work fine at this stage. Don’t lean on Shock or Corrosive here. Keep your peeks short, reload during his recovery, and never reload while he’s mid string. Three cycles, sometimes two, and he’s done.
Optional Trainer Helps (Use Responsibly)
TAKE NOTE: Certain mods disables online services when used (Infinite XP, Speed modifier, AI speed modifier, and Gravity modifier)
  • One Hit Kills
Flip this on only after you learn his rhythm, then use it to test routes or speed up Encore farming without changing your build.

  • No Recoil
Tight camp, lots of micro-corrections. This keeps early pistols and SMGs stable while you strafe between the ledges and punish his post-slam window.

  • Super Accuracy
Short windows mean your first bullets matter. This helps you land consistent crits during each sidestep punish and while clearing adds that block your lane.
