The IMDC Modular Housing Unit, a fully functional mobile shelter / tiny home capable of supporting an engineer in the field. Capable of being carried by the Albatross only, at least in merged mode, the Modular Housing Unit is capable of being deployed independently or as part of a liftable system of mixed small and large-grid modules able to stand up a complete mobile base. The IMDC uses these as temporary worksite housing and survival shelters, and several variations exist, both with and without the survival kit. They are capable of being airdropped, although this capability is rarely utilized because more precise placement is generally preferable; it is primarily retained in case the pod needs to be jettisoned mid-flight.

Out-of-character:

I figured why not try making a portable hab? I'm rather pleased with how it turned out. The button to the left of the door will briefly unlock the bottom MagLocks to level it with terrain. It is recommended that you take the direction of the sun into account when deploying it, and turn it so one side will get as much sunlight as possible.

Shout-out to MMaster for adding the OxygenLevel command to Automatic LCDs 2 upon request; now you can live-display the oxygen level of the exterior environment (as well as any others that have a vent).

Going to update this shortly. Rotate it 90 degrees for carry so smaller ships can carry it, and put a connector on one end. Because I realized that large connectors have enough margin of error to let you do something else cool: literally connect together an entire mobile base from temporarily placed modules. It is fully possible to move a large-grid refinery or reactor with a small ship, and position said refinery module so its connector allows it to attach to a separately-transported reactor module. Which, in turn, can attach to various other things. So, this could, in theory, be part of a mobile planetary field base system. I doubt I will ever actually expand it to that, but these are the types of things I come up with when I start going down the logistics rabbit holes.
