Smith’s Reach – Stash-to-Forge Helper

Henry can’t be both master and apprentice at once. Forge work is slow and clumsy with endless inventory shuffling—Smith’s Reach gives him that unseen helper.

✨ Features

Automatic stash assist – Materials are fetched from your chest when you open a forge.
Safe returns – On closing smithing, all unused stash-fetched items are returned automatically.
Transparent – Returns appear as standard item transfer notifications.
Expandable – Uses a lookup table for crafting materials, easily extendable (even by other mods).


⚒️ How It Works

Two paths:

1. Stash-Assist (no crafting)
Open forge → stash materials move to inventory.
Close without crafting → step away → materials return automatically.

2. Crafting Path

Open forge → stash materials move to inventory.
Craft as normal (game consumes what’s needed).
On item completion, unused stash-fetched materials are returned automatically.
Your own inventory items are never touched.

Notes

Returns are near-instant after crafting.
If you cancel early, walk a few meters from the forge to trigger the return.
Safe by design: only stash-fetched items are returned.
