"Computer, stop running at 5 fps and grant me G R A P H I C S." -Draedon, Exo Gamer

A collection of mods for optimising the game's performance while visually enhancing it. Conceived for the Infernal Eclipse of Ragnarok's Modpack, it should work for most playthroughs even with large modpacks. Guide, Texturepack and Config Files included.

It aims to improve the game's performance and stability in the most complete way possible while also enhancing the game's visuals and graphics.

Performance

    
• Nitrate/NQNitrate Improves many aspects of Terraria's engine. After testing it with 150+ Mods, it granted roughly 25-35% more FPS and much higher stability.
      
• High FPS Support practically doubles FPS in multiplayer.
      
• Loads the entire world before joining, preventing a lot of lag and some crashes (particularly with Permafrost's Keep).
      
• Adds Multiplayer IPv6 Support, as well as hiding other player's projectiles during boss fights.
      
• Locks the game at 2 FPS when AFK or in another tab.

Graphics

    
• Lights and Shadows / Fancy Lighting / Realistic Skies configured in a way to be stable and not FPS consuming(You may reduce the quality of Fancy Lighting even further if necessary, or raise it if you Pc allows you to).

1. Subscibe to all mods in this collection, you can do this instantly with the button at the end of this wall of text.
       
2. After the download is finished you must add the mod configurations to make sure everything works.

ModConfigs
Override your ModConfigs folders with the following one: https://www.mediafire.com/file/bvofvkqq3f18fzh/ModConfigsExo-Improvements.zip/file

Unzip it, then copy it into the following folder:

Directory/Location depending on the system
Windows: Documents/My Games/ Terraria/tModLoader/ModConfigs
Linux: /var/home/-Your User-/.local/share/Terraria/tModLoader/ModConfigs/


Game Breaking:
Remnants/Wombat's General Improvements: WombatQoL breaks tile textures, likely a conflict with Nitrate. While playable, all tiles either don't load or are black. Even disabling all configs does not fix this issue.


Fancy Lighting: One of the highest FPS eating mods ever made, but also one of the best. The provided configurations have it on low quality with other changes that make it more stable. However, if you still experience FPS drops, disabling this mod is sure to help.

Shape of Light/Water Reflection: The most impressive graphical mod ever made in Terraria. Unfortunately, it is also the most unstable. It is perfectly fine, as the mod is still in beta. If you want to use or try out it and it's addons, disable Lights and Shadows, Fancy Lighting and Realistic Skies, but be aware that it will be very demanding on your Pc and will likely cause crashes sometimes.

Nitrate: As of now, the Experimental Tile Rendering messes up the game's textures pretty significantly. It is normal due to it's nature, and it is normally disabled. The provided configurations keep it that way. Just something to be aware of if you're testing or troubleshooting.


I hope this will help you enjoy playing Terraria even more and that it may have helped people struggling with performance. Keep in mind however that Terraria is a very demanding game when modded, and that even this will never solve all problems.

Feel free to report any and all errors and bugs in the comments, but do so in a critical way, IE: check the configs, provide mod list, and make sure they're not incompatibilities outside of this project.
