Vault Symbols are glowing Vault glyphs painted into the world across Kairos. Touch the symbol, claim the reward, move on. There are 46 in total, bundled under the “Myth of the Vault” collectible challenge.

Each symbol gives you five SDU tokens on interaction. Those tokens feed directly into your Storage Deck Upgrades through ECHO-4, which means more ammo or bigger backpack space as you level. So yes, every pickup matters if you want fewer stash runs and more time shooting.

As you roam, your ECHO map helps more than you think. Get close to a collectible and the game highlights it in the ECHO menu, so you can pivot and grab it without combing every rock face. It’s subtle, but it adds up when you’re clearing a whole region.

Note: you’ll be crisscrossing a lot of ground. Expect symbols in early zones and story hubs alike, with region names you’ll hit often like Fadefields, Terminus Range, and Carcadia Burn.

TIP: If you’re already chasing Vault Key Fragments for the regional Vaults, piggyback those routes and sweep for symbols on the way. It’s efficient, and you’re already in the neighborhood.

How to tackle the cleanup without backtracking? Finish a chunk of missions in a zone, do a slow lap with the ECHO map open, then climb the obvious vantage points and check walls near ladders, catwalks, vents, or waterfalls. The placement philosophy in BL4 pushes you up and off the main path, so think high, tucked, and slightly mean. You’ll recognize the pattern after a handful.

But don’t overthink it. If you’re pushing SDUs fast for comfort, knock out a few symbols whenever you unlock a new area, then save a focused sweep for later. The drip of tokens keeps your inventory growing while you play, and the full upgrades come once you’re ready to 100% a zone.

That’s it! Touch the symbol, bank the SDUs, and keep moving. If you’re mapping your own route across Kairos, tie your symbol runs to the same circuits you use for Order Silos and regional Vaults, and you’ll end up clearing collectibles without feeling like you’re grinding at all.
