Ore Detector Range+

描述
With the new Ore Detector blocks from the Apex Survival DLC, the Ore Detector mod I was using didn't change the new blocks with the expanded range, of course.

So, I created this to change the range of the Ore Detectors to the following:

Small Grid = 200M

Large Grid = 400M

The original Ore Detector+ mod I used was by Sapphire.

has anyone tried to make a directed ore detector. one that has a long range in front, but not around it?

@Sharpshot514, thanks for the pointers. I might do that... I did it a while ago (like waaaay back) for the sore detector too, but since forgot how. But really the ore detector is the one that's the big issue. I tweak drills and welders just a little bit so I can make mining ships that don't look so silly being just a wall of drills, or need crazy amounts of time or automation in a welding bay to weld up a new ship or structure. But generally just around 1.5-2x radius or so.

@Greystone When you're in the control panel for your grid, click on the Ore Detector in the list, in the center of the window will be settings for the block. There should be a slider for the Range, and if you set it to the maximum value it should be 200M or 400M for the respective sizes.

@jarhead I don't currently plan to make another modification and upload it separately with different ranges for the detectors. However, if you'd like to tailor your detectors to your preferences, my response to StormCat can be applicable to you as well.

@StormCat From the small amount of testing I have done, it looks like the drills are based on "CutOutRadius" & "CutOutOffset" values in the CubeBlocks files. All the others are based on "SensorRadius" & "SensorOffset" values. The Sensor values on the drills are for entity damage (ex. player character detection). I say this to say you can modify those values to get the exact ranges you desire for the other tool blocks. It would need to be modified in both the standard Tools & ApexSurvival files. I followed the SEModdingGuide [www.spaceengineersgame.com] and copied out the files to modify and used the AppData Mods folder the guide references to test.

I'm fine with the vanilla range for the tools, so I don't currently have plans to modify those blocks.

How do I use it?

Can you do another with max ranges at small=300 and large=900?

Thanks for doing this. Likewise the new drills and such aren't being updated by those mods (I think I was using the same Ore Detector+). If you have the time, would be real nice to give the Welders, Drills, Grinders similar treatment.
