Population Growth Overhaul

描述
! Requires Unity Mod Manager !

This mod changes the education penalty to population growth to take into account inequality and GDP per capita.

In the base game, growth drops with education until about 10.76 (~10.75557). With this mod, low inequality and/or high GDP can reduce that cap by up to 3 points (restoring the lost growth).

The formula takes per capita GDP over 20,000 up to 180,000 and divides it by 10,000, then takes half the square root of that. That gives a number from 0 to 2, being 1 at 60,000 and 2 at 180,000.

Then you take inequality minus that number, and if it's below 3 you reduce the education penalty cap by however much it is below 3. So at 60,000 per capita GDP and 2 inequality you would have a bonus of 2, so any penalty for education above about 8.76 would be removed. If you have 110,000 per capita GDP and an inequality of 1.5, your bonus would be 3 and the education penalty would max out at about 7.76

Countries will still grow way faster if you leave education low, but with a high enough per capita GDP and low enough inequality you can recover some of that growth and prevent population decline.

~ ! ~ This mod has been tested for release version 0.4.90 and beta version 0.4.95. It may not work correctly on other builds of the game. ~ ! ~

It patches and replaces the annualPopulationGrowth formula in TIRegionState. It can be toggled live in the mod manager, with no save/load required to see the difference in the pop growth tooltips.

(((PCGDP/10000)-2)^2)/2

per capita GDP divided by 10,000. Minus 2. This means 20,000 = 0 and 180,000 = 16. Square root of that gives you between 0 and 4. 60000 would be 2. Half of that gives you 1.

So the maximum bonus can be gotten at the min inequality of 1 combined with a per capita GDP of at least 60,000. If your GDP is higher you can get away with a little inequality.

What it means "takes half the square root of that" and "That gives a number from 0 to 2, being 1 at 60,000 and 2 at 180,000", I can't imaging such formula.

Ctrl F10 to open the unity mod manager screen. Then just untick the box for this mod and hit save. It will go back to the base game calculation, the result of which shows up in the tooltip when you hover over the pop to show growth.
