Frag Mercs is best unit to attack heavily armored bugs.
shotgun mode can stun heavily armored bugs, grenade mode can harm them.
so take some shotgun mode and some grenade mode Frag Mercs,will kill them safely.
you can use move attack to get closer if other bugs stop you.
I'm also having issues with the heavily armored bugs, particularly when they have chaff around them. What units or abilities do you recommend against them?
I would suggest adding them when ever you clear a hive but besides that keep up the good work

Here is a video on my YT Channel I just took - The biped is able to attack the tanker and damage it.
I went to the community content section, subscribed to the map itself rather than loading it from the editor to see if this was causing the issue.
If anyone else can conform if the biped can or can not attack the tanker (If you used it) would be helpful.
I tried it again and the heavy biped can't target tankers. Even the cursor changes to a square.
Sorry to hear you found the map not to your liking, however what branch are you playing on?
Because if your on beta, then that could be causing issues with how the bipeds work, as the heavy biped is able to attack tankers without any issues - I just did a quick test again and no issues with the unit he was well able to slaughter the tanker. (As this map was made and tested on the Normal branch)
As for the others glitch/issues you mentioned.
I can not help you with those either, the units come and there states come down to the dev's to fix in future updates. (But i found nothing really wrong with them)
But I was able to play test the map fine with the units given, and had no issues dealing with the scorpions or tankers,
As a secondary opinion I even had some one else play test last night as-well after release. They also did not have any issues.
Some things about the 'new' merc faction. It has no anti armor and seriously struggles vs scorpions and tankers...
The old merc captain had a grenade launcher that did about the same damage as a rocket while the new hunter killer merc has a whole slew of glitches. The HK merc's main rifle shot may deal 0 damage and might only be dealing damage via the flames it creates. Which some bugs are effectively immune to. The wolf drones appear to deal 0 damage.
Rifle merc's volley ability seems to deal 0 or minimal damage. (this has to be a glitch...)
Frag mercs with the grenade have somewhere between 25-50% of the old dps. (they fire half as often and half as many rounds, although they did pick up 2 more dudes.)
The heavy biped can't attack tankers... wtf? Idk what is going on here. But don't forget the light biped! That thing has new abilities and is probably the only reliable answer to tankers (if you micro a lot.)
