DESCRIPTION:
"Whew… Alright, it's uploaded."

"What are you doing?"

"Huh? What do you mean, it's a CLN fleet-"

"Yeah. One you haven't playtested! Like, at all!"

"I mean, I did test fire all the missiles in the testing range."

"But what about actual playtesting?? What about your usual weeks long effort to improve the fleet step by step until you are CONFIDENT you can give it in a new player's hands and they'll have a good time?"

"It's a CMD/SAH craft CLN."

"And?"

"I can't play craft CLN."

"... Then... Don't upload it?"

"Mate, do you want to know why this fleet is called CAR? It's named after a gun in Titanfall 2."

"Okay, cool game, but what does the name have to do with the-"

"In that game's last tournament, every single player on every single team used the CAR. Save for one guy, and that guy got owned."

"More than half the people you meet in Titanfall run CAR + Grapple, because it's the META. This fleet isn't new player friendly. Heck, it's not good because it was made by me, and not GnomeRemover or Bonggyy or Notes or the other handful insanely skilled CLN players out there who share their fleets around on the Discords. I respect these people because they have a lot of skill in the game, much more than I will ever have. Heck, the only reason anyone clicks on this fleet rather than some better CLN one is because I gave it a shiny thumbnail. I HOPE nobody actually brings this in a game! People should find an actual CLN main instead and copy their fleets. Heck, while they're at it, they should also grab Star's tri Vaux and HIMARS' double beam cap fleet."

"So... You think it's pointless to make your own fleets?"

"Kind of. Because Nebulous is starting to suffer from Titanfall disease. The players have optimised their gear to the point where there's an established monobuild for a double Axford fleet which has been refined over the course of a year by more than a dozen players, and if you don't use it you will be factually less effective than other players at this role. The game has been solved, frankly. Lys can remove the fleet builder at this point."

"I mean, you can't blame people for wanting to win. Also, why are you bothering then? If all this nonsense you're saying is true, you are running an arms race against the game's entire competitive community. That's a losing battle, Jar. So why bother? Why not take a break until they remove Pikes and play something else?"

"Because I enjoy making fleets. I had hoped I could be this kind of... bridge between newer players who are failing to get into the game because starter fleets are built for roleplay rather than multiplayer gaming, and the competitive elite. I wanted to offer people actual starter fleets which are competent enough to be effective but also easy enough to use to not be overwhelming, but... I'm starting to wonder if I'm trying to square a circle..."

"... You're losing your identity as a Workshop creator here."

"Hmm?"

"Way I see it, you have two choices: You can either pursue perfection and make a bunch of fleets which are basically tournament level fleets with labels so newbies can understand what everything does, and still get told it's bad because you don't use the radar for tanking shots. Or you can make fleets the way you want to and stop playing with stacks."

"You can't find matches in my time zone if you don't stack."

"Welp, sucks to suck~."

USAGE IN BATTLE:
As a preparation, launch your radar skiff, a Jadehead EO Pike, and a pair of Fansong illuminator skiffs with the illuminator loadout that gives them the pencil thin beams.

Establish a secure track on the target, then direct your Pikes to illuminate and track the target using SHIFT + RMB (use STANDOFF setting).

Fire a salvo of CMD containers using a 3/5 mixture of Yippie boxes. Make sure to set up a time-on-target (ToT) strike by firing two salvos in succession at spaced out target reference points (TRPs), otherwise your missiles will be defeated by hardkill.

Your primary armament are your R2 boxes, mix those salvos too for better effect especially against Beamstones.

@Star_Kindler This fleet is made to be a sort of caricature of min-max builds, therefore anything that isn't an offensive container is clearly a crutch. Simply kill the enemy harder, dying is always a skill issue/s

Lol the description. I really do hope they sort out the balance so that there isn't just a "best" fleet of each role. That's kind of boring that that seems to be largely the case.

It is cool how there's a sort of "tech race" for the best fleets though by the best players. But there should be more than one option imo.

I subscribed to this build because of the hilarious Titanfall 2 reference and exposition into Nebulous. As someone who makes my own builds myself with no external reference and so my builds tend to fail this was a funny read.

So fucking true. Optimizers are truly a disease on any game they inhabit. This is a traditional 3D RTS, not a ranked MOBA game.
