ABOUT THIS MOD

Motley Crews is a fast, tactical skirmish game played on a standard chessboard with fantasy-inspired crews of five characters.

Each player commands a symmetrical team made up of a Knight, Barbarian, White Mage, Black Mage, and Arbalist, each with unique stats and abilities. On your turn, you move one figure and perform an action—either a basic attack or a special ability like healing or spellcasting. Positioning, range, and timing matter as you whittle down your opponent’s crew. Figures take damage and can be defeated, earning you points, but revival abilities can swing the score back. Victory goes to the first player to earn four points or eliminate the enemy crew.

Simple to learn but rich with tactical choices, Motley Crews blends the accessibility of chess with the flavor of classic RPG roles. With official 3D-printable minis—or any figures you have on your shelf—it’s a flexible system that invites house rules, new roles, and custom boards for endless replayability.
