An ancient anomaly of similar nature to a neutron star that is most of the time in a dormant state in the sun's core, It tends to take it's place every a few centuries, during events that range from minutes to days, and according to historical archives, objects that have been exposed for long time periods to it's light presented different physical alterations.
The object hasn't and likely can't leave the solar system, and it cannot maintain it's true form stable for more than short periods of time. It has been depicted in prophetic texts, most if not all claiming it will free itself one day.
