With increasing tensions between the ESDF and the Factorum and with an increase in pirate attacks on supply convoys and civilian shipping the ESDF high command and materials administrations decided to design and build a new version of the Cosmo Viggen strike fighter and as such a new MK2 was created.
The MK2 Cosmo Viggen is designed primarily to carry anti-ship missiles to deal with pirate raiders but also to carry the new AWAC pod in order to act as an early warning system around stations or in fleets but can also carry other wing mounted munitions.
The MK2 Cosmo Viggen includes a bunch of new tech such as automatic payload release as well as indicator once they are dropped and the same air intakes seen on newer Mjolnir superiority fighters as well as a new wing and tail design for better atmospheric flight.
