The Bombardier CRJ series is a family of rear-engine regional jets made in Canada. Despite production ending in 2020, the CRJ series remains popular with regional airlines around the world. The -900 variant is an extended variant of the -700, with a longer fuselage and wider wings for better capacity and range. Seating up to 90 passengers, the aircraft is popular on longer, higher-demand routes usually served by larger aircraft due to its small size.
SkyWest Airlines operates 17 CRJ-900 aircraft for Sunset Regional exclusively in the West Coast of the United States. Based out of Los Angeles, these aircraft fly high-demand commuter routes between large Western US cities, with occasional international routes to Mexico.
