[BNW] Sas's Syria - Ahmed al-Sharaa

Welcome to the most controversial civ of 2025 so far. This mod isn't necessarily an endorsement of Ahmed al-Sharaa's presidency, or HTS, Al-Nusra, etc -- if anything, it's more of a celebration of the Assad regime's downfall and the victory of the Syrian Revolution after 13 bloody years, and an opportunity to have another contemporary world leader in Civ 5, particularly a Syrian civ which isn't led by Bashar al-Assad. I wish peace and prosperity to the Syrian people!


Forge coalitions and take leadership of the revolution as Ahmed al-Sharaa's Syria in Civ 5! The jihadist-turned-statebuilder who shocked the world with an 11-day offensive that completely defeated Assad's forces in a dramatic end to the 13-year Syrian Civil War is now in Civ 5! Courting western nations with promises of minority rights and the building of democratic institutions, his Presidency so far has been marred by incidents of mass violence against Alawite and Druze citizens, in some cases by Syrian government forces, as well as Israeli military aggression and assassination attempts by ISIS and Hezbollah. Many remain hopeful that a lasting and just peace is being built in a free Syria, but only time will tell what comes next.

Syria - Ahmed al-Sharaa

The Blessed Revolution: May passively "steal" Units from declared Friends, Defensive Pact partners, and allied City-States, and friendly City-States provide Faith in the Capital. Trained Units begin with extra XP from their City's Faith output.

Red Band: Unique Paratrooper for al-Sharaa's Syria which has a much lower Paradrop Range than the default unit (4 vs 8), but begins with the Siege promotion and, upon capturing a City, grants an extra +2 Moves to all friendly Units within 3 tiles of that City for that turn.

Munazzamah: Unique Hospital for al-Sharaa's Syria which does not cost any Maintenance. By default, yields +2 Food, +2 Production, +2 Gold, and +2 Faith, with each yield increased by +1 per declared Friend (to a maximum +5.) City heals damage faster, increased per Allied City-State.

Includes mod support for YnAEMP, Cultural Diversity, and JFDLC.
