描述
BAD – "Better AI Driving" · Work In Progress
This mod is not compatible with LAMB or similar mods because its still WIP.

!!! IMPORTANT UPDATE: NO UPDATES IN NEAR FUTURE !!!



1) Before you start
    Put all vehicles in one group. One group leader + all other vehicles as subordinates.Put every crew member in the same group as their driver. Driver, passengers, and gunner must belong to the vehicle’s group.
  • Give the vehicle group at least one waypoint on the road. Recommended: COLUMN formation.



2) Assign roles (Eden → Attributes)
Only options for the selected role are enabled. Keep it simple: pick exactly one role per unit.

Driver
  • Check “Is This AI a driver”.
    *
    Set: Speed limit (km/h), Driver get out on last WP, Stay out seconds, Convoy spacing (m), Co-driver takeover, Floor it under fire.

Passenger
  • For each passenger unit, check “Is This AI a passenger”.
    *
    Passengers get out on last WP, Passengers combat ready at last WP.

Gunner
  • For the turret gunner unit, check “Is This AI a gunner”.
    *
    Make gunner stay in vehicle at last WP.

Do NOT mix roles on the same unit. A unit must be Driver or Passenger or Gunner. Mixing roles on one unit can break the mod.


3) What happens in game
    When a unit sits in the driver seat, BAD applies the driver’s settings to that vehicle automatically.At the last waypoint:
      If enabled, drivers dismount and follow the Stay out timer.If enabled, all passengers dismount (and can be set to combat ready).If enabled, the main gunner stays in the vehicle.
    Convoy spacing sets the minimum gap. Good baseline: 6–12 m.



4) Quick checklist
    All vehicles in one group.All crew members in the same group as their driver.Give the group a road waypoint.Assign exactly one role per unit (Driver / Passenger / Gunner).
  • Enable the role toggle first; then tweak its options.



5) Troubleshooting
    Options are greyed out: Tick the role toggle (Is This AI a…) first.Only one passenger dismounts: Ensure each passenger has the Passenger role and Passengers get out on last WP enabled (or set it on the driver so the vehicle inherits it).
  • Nobody dismounts at WP: Confirm it’s the last waypoint, vehicles slow down near it, and the group actually reaches it.

Tip: Keep speeds realistic and spacing sensible (6–12 m) for smooth convoys.

@pudds LAMBS forces game AI logic one way, BAD forces it another way, simple as that :steamhappy: As soon as I fix couple issues in RL, I will get back to continue fixing this mod.

Right now its only been tested with vanila vehicles, RHSUSAF vehicles and 3den enhanced mod. But if you have any tips, feel free to let me know :doggy:

How does the mod conflict with LAMBS?

When will your mod be compatible with LAMBS ? Preferably with LAMBS_Danger.fsm (DEV). I'll say it again. IT IS with LAMBS_Danger.fsm (DEV) :CSAT::FIA::NATO: ?!

As I understand it, it is possible to force bots to return to their vehicles in the absence of an enemy, when it has been destroyed.

@neretropazanchic when soldiers disembark on WP or if they disembark when enemy is close, they wont return to vehicles, if forced to return, game logic would crash.

Author, show a video of your mod setup (how you use it).

My machine gunners disembark.
When eliminating a threat, my soldiers don't get back into their vehicles.

I used one of your mods.
I followed your setup recommendations, but I might have made some mistakes.

@Yuka havent tested yet with antistasi. If you have time, try to search in comments, maybe someone mentioned using it with antistasi.:doggy:
