⚓ Description ⚓

Tired of opening the cannons menu with the S key every single time? You have to open the menu, switch to the ships tab, press S, add or remove cannons, confirm, close the menu — and then remember you forgot something? … And repeat it all again.

This mod shrinks the large (and essentially useless) ship image and places a fully functional cannons menu right beneath it. Simple, convenient, always at hand, always visible. You still clearly see which ship is selected, while the menu blends seamlessly into the overall UI.

📌 During boarding, naval battles, and certain story events, all cannon menu buttons are disabled, just like in the standard pop-up cannons menu.

📌 The “OK” and “Cancel” buttons have been removed as unnecessary. All changes are applied instantly.

To avoid conflict, you need to delete the ship.c file in the path Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\2230980\3544584430\Program\interface (lines from it are transferred to a similar file in my mod)

This requires many changes to the current system. Since it is necessary to somehow take into account the range, damage, positions on the ship for guns of different calibers, as well as the display in the current menu. But the task is very interesting to implement. I will return to it in beta 1.6.

I hope you find a way to implement the possibility to use different canoon sizes together likes described in one of the former comments.

Чтобы не было конфликта, нужно удалить файл ship.c по пути Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\2230980\3544584430\Program\interface (строки из него перенесёны в аналогичный файл моего мода)

Grate idea. I think it's quite feasible. The most time will be spent on implementing the visual display of this in the menu and at sea. I will definitely try to implement it.

One "improvement" I would like to see, if it's possible, is to have multiple calibres of cannons. For example, 12 pounders for broadsides, with, say, 8 Lb chasers in the bow. It would give the ability to use some of the mis-matched cannons you get from boarded ships, and add a small level of historical accuracy to the game, since most privateers and pirates normally couldn't afford matched sets of cannons, and had to make do with what they had. Just a thought, though.
