Features
  • Replaces the Mini-14.
      The Mini-14 is the hunting rifle in-game. It uses 5.56mm ammo like the M16A2/SG 552/SCAR-L and has a short barrel, but somehow deals the same damage as the G3SG1, which uses 7.62mm ammo, and is even more accurate than the G3SG1, which has a long barrel… Pure nonsense. That is why I use this model as a replacement for the Shorty-14 — the M14 is a full-sized 7.62mm combat rifle comparable to the G3SG1.
  • High-quality model from HQ M14 Improved/Arima's animations by 洛洛无霍.
  • Heavily optimised model to allow you run this add-on in basically any custom campaign without issues, including Chernobyl: Chapter One.
      Done by splitting one large SMD into several smaller ones. Simple, yet effective and neither affects the weapon visually nor requires adding "$nodecal 1" to its VMTs in order to prevent the game from crashing when someone holding this weapon gets pounced at by the Hunter or attacked by the Witch, which was a guaranteed crash every single time.
  • Even more heavily optimised world model.
      Same as first-person view model, but also lowered the amount of polygons for some parts. World models do not need to be extremely detailed.
  • The textures of small parts are resized from 1024×1024 to 512×512 for additional optimisation without noticeable visual impact. The main texture is still at 2048×2048 resolution because otherwise the weapon looks blurry.
  • Adjusted shader settings to make the weapon look less "oily", while making its scope lens look more like actual lens made of glass.
  • HUD icon.
  • Softer default sounds from Warmer Weapon Sounds by gobbler.
      The deploy and zoom sounds are replaced with silence because they are ugly. The sounds this model had with it are ugly, too.
  • No overexaggerated muzzle flash.
      The flashlight will NOT be flickering. Affects the world model, too.
  • No vertical shell casing that was clipping through the scope and obscuring the user's vision.
  • No nausea-inducing camera sway during certain actions.
  • No scripts.
The thumb on the left hand might look odd with some hands — this is a problem of the original add-on, which I cannot fix. Looks fine with the hands I use.
