Bro, I've been asking them for over a year to add upgrades to the ship to allow us to move around faster, and they said, "oh yeah, we're gonna add that," even still never have, so I guess it's up to us to do it ourselves.
Personally, my take is that it does make it materially easier, but until we actually have the ship engine upgrade it's still a trade I'll make. I'd rather be able to wander around fighting different varieties of space demon than, say, be stuck on mars spamming mission generation and evaccing early on repeat because it's optimal with respect to the doom timer. It's boring, and there's a lot more of the game to see than that.
I've gifted the creator of the mod some steam points and an award before the compounding ability of the mod was removed.
