This update introduces the Omicron Research Tree, allowing players to remove Nanite Saturation from Borg items and safely use them without infection risk. The tree begins after completing Fabrication Research and incorporates special recipes to progress through its branches.

• Borg Disruptor Cannon – A specialized heavy weapon that deals concussive damage.

• Omicron Particle Research – Initiates the Omicron research tree. Requires Fabrication and unlocks the Nanite Radiation Research recipe.
  
• Nanite Radiation Experimentation – Advanced by breaking down Borg items via the Nanite Radiation Research recipe at the Fabrication Bench.
  
• Advanced Omicron Experimentation – Advanced by breaking down Borg implants via the Advanced Omicron Research recipe at the External Beam Omicron Accelerator.

• Nanite Radiation Research – Unlocked by Omicron Particle Research; increases progress in Nanite Radiation Experimentation upon completion.
  
• Omicron Desaturation Treatment – Unlocked by Nanite Radiation Experimentation; removes Nanite Saturation from Borg items and implants.
  
• Advanced Omicron Research – Unlocked by Nanite Radiation Experimentation; increases progress in Advanced Omicron Experimentation upon completion.
  
• Omicron Radiation Therapy – Unlocked by Advanced Omicron Experimentation; removes the Assimilated Borg hediff from Borg pawns as a surgical operation.

• External Beam Omicron Accelerator – Unlocked by Nanite Radiation Experimentation; used for Omicron Desaturation Treatment and Advanced Omicron Research recipes.

Adds the Borg as a ruthless faction in RimWorld, complete with unique gear, aesthetics, and assimilation mechanics. The Borg now manifest as a health condition (hediff) that afflicts normal human-like pawns, rather than a separate race as seen in previous Borg-themed mods. Borg faction settlements will populate the world upon starting a new game, ready to expand the Collective.

• Borg Disruptor Rifle – A deadly energy rifle, favored by the Borg.
  
• Cyber-pneumatic Carapace – Bio-integrated defensive plating.
  
• Integrated Neural Helmet – Protective cranial plating.
  
• Adaptive Shield Belt – Mobile multiphasic adaptive shield generator.

• Assimilated Borg – The subject has been fully assimilated and integrated into the Borg Collective.
  
• Nanite Infection – The subject’s body has been infected with Borg nanoprobes, diminishing their consciousness as the nanites spread and assimilate the body.
  
• Nanite Exposure – The subject has been exposed to nanite-saturated equipment; prolonged exposure can result in negative health impacts and possibly an internal nanite infection.

• Ocular Implant – An eye for an eye leaves you with only one eye to fight the Collective…
  
• Peripheral Manipulation Actuator – Shoulder-mounted multitool with integrated nanoprobe tubules; also, an instant win at arm wrestling.
  
• Cyber-Kinetic Implement – Specialized leg implants that not only increase physical capability but also include advanced transporter technology.
  
• Cauda Equina Harmonization Node – Synchronizes the drone’s thoughts and memories to align with the Collective.
  
• Cardiac Reinstatement Module – Reactivates the drone upon unscheduled deactivation.
  
• Abdominal Regenerator – Reappropriates space from vestigial digestive system to house a bio-regeneration node.

Borg items are crafted from nanite substrate and saturated with Borg nanoprobes. Use of Borg items by non-Borg pawns will result in nanite exposure, which can lead to infection and ultimately full assimilation.
