While I was checking the vpk files it looks like the envmap on most vmt files are using the ones from the Gmod model and not using L4D2's envmaps ( "$envmap" "models\weapons\tfa_kf2\envmaps\specularity_100", which doesn't exist in L4D2), that's why it looks with no texture on high shaders, but with medium-low shaders, since it doesn't use the envmaps (reflections) it works fine.
