The Nightmare Cycle was more atmospheric in DS, because it commanded the entirety of the Ruins in a depth of darkness where daylight does not penetrate. In DST, with the Ruins and the Caves united in one world, the parallel arrangement between the Day and Night Cycle along with the Nightmare Cycle can feel tourmented and unnecessary, something they had kept out of legacy and not a decision motivated by a concept. And, if they were to rework the Caves and Ruins, my guess is that they would do this little rework that this mod does: to synchronize the two cycles, so that Day is Calm, Dusk is Warn, and Night is Wild, and with the Dawn phase occupying a tiny bit at the start of the day.
