Because this is only the bullet hole diameter and not the main gun caliber.

I haven't seen any visual bugs with your craft, but when I manually create the same setup, the turret becomes transparent. The higher the 4 indicator in the “Graph” is set, the further the tower can be seen (3-50 meters)
