Marble GP Bolivia (Firefly Swamp)

Hey guys,

it's been one HELL of a break since the last new country GP, about one whole year. But I'm back building and I wanted to start with a bang as this one is actually very personal to me. It's the Marble GP of Bolivia.

Now, it has nothing to do with the country itself but with what I have planned to implement into the track. Fireflies are one of the nicest phenomenons of nature to look at and the majority of them can be found in South America, including Bolivia. Now, there was one character in TV entertainment that was basically synonymous with fireflies: WWE superstar Bray Wyatt (for those who don't know: WWE means World Wrestling Entertainment). He built his whole persona around some sort of cult that he was leading and the people who followed his lead were called "fireflies". He also implemented some spooky horror elements into his appearance like a dark swamp in the forest or an old rocking chair he usually sat in. It has always been an absolute sight to behold whenever he made his entrance into an arena and the fans were switching on the flashlight of their mobile phone and waved it over their head, creating a sea of fireflies in an otherwise completely dark arena. It was really stunning and he was a character that stood out in the wrestling industry. Someone I could identify with in my youth and who grew to my heart very quickly. Unfortunately though, he had suffered from heart problems that had gotten heavier when he caught Covid-19 in August 2023. This caused a massive heart attack resulting in his tragic passing on August 24th of 2023, aged only 36. To this day he remains heavily missed, not only by myself but also by the whole wrestling business.

The track is my personal way of honouring this man, a legend of the industry. You race through a dungeon-like building with a little library, many mystic places in it as well as his dreaded "Wyatt Swamp" which also was part of his on-screen-character. Also included are obviously hundreds of fireflies which fly around in a dark forest.

A massive thank you goes to Rinke, the creator of Marble World, for introducing us to the Dungeon patch in 2024 and with that implementing a huge amount of horror decoration and other stuff that enhances a cryptic environment like this one. Without this patch I wouldn't be able to properly build a track around this topic which has been a big part of my personal wishlist ever since Bray's passing. So again, thank you to Rinke for this patch.
