Protarian Alchemy: Crystals

A resurrection of the 'Ancient Crystals' mod by Suvi and Vali Dragunova (previously known for mods such as Wisteria and Charged Arsenal), with a high-fantasy, alchemic twist, alongside new, unique additions.

I was recently given permission with full authority to take this mod under my wing, so it's going under new care and additions.

• Crystals are now carefully grown, earned, or bought instead of crafted. Prior to the mod, they were crafted with semi-rare materials, such as gold and a human heart.
  
• Crystals must be CAREFULLY taken care of. These crystals contain EXTREME power, and as such they will violently release that power if mistreated. Make sure they are safe and sound!
  
• You can now turn them into powerful magitek reactors, which produce extreme temperatures, but also clean electrical energies as well. Their storage needs to be carefully considered, and like the crystals themselves they will violently release their energy if critically damaged, but they are a perfect power source for any fantasy or partially magic colony!

Find these crystals as loot, as deep mining rewards, or as quest rewards, then plant them as if they were seeds. You can then plant these crystals to form small growths, or research how to 'prime' them to create bigger growths. The bigger the crystal growth, the bigger - and more potent - the final crystal will be!

• Magitek reactors produce power based on how extreme the temperature is within it. At the moment, HELLFIRE crystals produce more power than FARFROST crystals, but legend says every crystal has a unique, powerful property that will make each pylon superior in one way or another...
  
  
• Additionally, a third reactor, based of a crystal shrouded in mystery is rumored to exist, but it is unknown exactly what this is, or when it'll appear. Only time will tell....
