This lightweight patch integrates Dead’s Kislev Overhaul with The Motherland, letting you enjoy the best features and improvements from both mods without any conflicts.

Changes to the parent mods are kept as minimal and respectful as possible, in line with the vision and intent of the original author(s). I’ve made a few edits based on available lore and personal preference, but the focus remains on balance and functionality - no sweeping redesigns, just smoother integration.

Future updates may include small quality-of-life enhancements, all designed to work seamlessly alongside both mods. I’ll do my best to keep the patch updated — please report any bugs or issues you encounter.

All credit goes to Dead Baron and Xoudad & team for their incredible work.

@Iceobeasty Cheers! I actually really like Dead’s Strelsi - the bardiche-rest firearm animation is much closer to how they were depicted in older lore, and it gives the roster something a bit more unique. I haven’t run into any LOD issues personally (I’m using 'Warhammer 3 LOD Distance Enhanced'), but I understand how frustrating those visual glitches can be.

Love it. Could you switch Strelsi to Motherland version? Dead's version is messed up with LOD Remover

@Papashoulz Thanks for clarifying. I decided to remove the animal units because they felt a little too close to Wood Elf territory, and I wanted to preserve Kislev’s identity without muddying the waters. Restricting the other units would also mean branching away from vanilla intent - and since Ice and Hag Witches can be recruited in any Kislev faction, it still makes thematic sense for the 'Things in the Woods' and 'Beast Elementals' to appear across all rosters. As both overhauls already add a wide range of units, I also wanted to avoid bloating the rosters any further.

@AwDiddums no problem, I was referring to the Dead Kislev mod which restricts certain units to Ostankya (things in the wood, beast elemental) and gives all Kislev factions the ability to recruit wild animals (Wolf, bears hawks). If there is any chance too keep this in your compatibility patch.

@Papashoulz Sorry, I didn’t quite understand your comment — could you rephrase it?

The Hawks of Mishka were made a Regiment of Renown to reflect their lore ties to the Ice Queen. As I said in the description: “I’ve made a few edits based on available lore and personal preference.”

Good catch - you’re right! It looks like 'The Motherland' may have recently updated the Gryphon Legion’s shield setup, so my older “fix” turned into a funny-looking seat. I’ve tested it by removing the shield fix, and that resolves the issue. Thanks for spotting it!

The gryphon legion has a horizontal shield in the middle of its body
