Billy is the eerie puppet created and used by John Kramer (Jigsaw) to communicate with his victims. He isn't alive — he's a dummy with a chilling appearance and iconic voice, delivering messages that introduce the deadly games.

🧩 Role in the Saw Movies
Billy is:

The messenger for Jigsaw.

Used in video recordings, live messages, or seen riding a tricycle into the room before the victim hears the instructions.

He tells victims the rules of their trap — what they must do to survive or redeem themselves.

📺 Famous line:
“Hello, [Aangie]. I want to play a game.”

Even though Billy never harms anyone himself, he’s become the face of fear in the series.

😨 Appearance
White face with exaggerated red spiral cheeks

Bright red lips with a cruel smile

Red eyes with black pupils

Black mop-like hair

Wears a tuxedo with a red bow tie

Often seen riding a red tricycle into the scene

His face has become one of the most recognizable horror icons, like Ghostface, Freddy, or Jason.

🧠 Symbolism
Billy represents:

Judgment and the cold delivery of Jigsaw’s twisted morality.

A way for Jigsaw to stay distant from the crime — he never directly appears, only his puppet.

A mask that hides emotion — matching Jigsaw’s belief that pain brings enlightenment and change.

John Kramer built Billy himself:

As part of his traps and theatrics

To scare and instruct his test subjects

Possibly named him after an imaginary toy he once made for his unborn child (hinted in Saw IV)

Voice Actor: Tobin Bell (who plays Jigsaw) also does Billy’s voice

The name “Billy” was never used in the films, but James Wan and the crew called him that during production — and fans adopted it.
