Draftable Animals - Releashed
This is a 1.6 update for the original Draftable Animals mod by CEM, Taranchuk, and Stardust.

I was given permission from Stardust for this (and yes, I know the name is stupid :))

What's Changed or Kept
- Kept all original features
- Refactored some parts to make it compatible with 1.6
- Removed some Harmony patches that would error on load

Known Issues
- When you right click on grass and have the animal eat it, an error is thrown, but it doesn't come from this mod. You'd only see it in dev mode, I think.

Incompatibilties
Animal Weapons - Clicking on an animal will throw an error immediately for GetGizmos()

Since I had to rewrite some code, there may be unexpected issues.

Original Description
Have you ever wanted to send your army of huskies around for a flanking maneuver? What if you wanted your bear to attack a centipede to prevent them from firing, but they go for the Scyther instead? Oh! what if you wanted your precious companions to take cover behind sandbags instead of wandering into the line of fire?

Oh, well have i got the mod for you!

For the low, low price of one subscription, you can now draft your animals! Like any other colonist!

Tired of using Pawnmorpher semi-sentient animals? or Genetic rim mind control systems? Well, seems like this is your lucky day!

All you need for this mod to work is to have a tamed animal that is trained in 'Attack' (Vanilla. It normally lets you release animals to attack with the vanilla system).

The vanilla system for releasing animals to attack has been left untouched for your pleasure :)

Above is every vanilla animal that can be trained to 'attack'

This mod is not compatible with Zetrith's Multiplayer, However there is a fork available here

(Should work with modded animals or vanilla animals that have their train-ability changed)

The problem comes down to an animal having equipment. I tested Mech Dragon and Pawn Rules, none of which made the animals undraftable. If you had an older version, the mod was originally giving animals equipment, but that's been since removed. My recommendation is to use the dev tools to destroy the animal that's not working, spawn in a new one and tame it with the command. In my clean environment, I'm not able to reproduce any of these bugs anymore.

This mod seems incompatible with Pawn Rules. When Pawn Rules is enabled and an animal is drafted, all the icons disappear. When check the "Do not use for animals" option for Pawn Rules, all the icons come back.

@Battle Fennec @Aleksey I'm using the mod with the Mecha Dragons and I'm having the same issue with them being undraftable. Did you find a fix with it or what mod might be the issue?

I'm seeing errors from EnableOversizedWeapons and some other things, and in your screenshot I'm seeing "Force hunting". If the animal is given a weapon or equipment, that could cause branches of logic to run in the base game, that should never run for animals, causing errors. Having that said, I'm not really seeing any errors with gizmos nor gear tabs. Those are the two things I encountered when fixing the issue initially. There's a transpiler patch being applied from MVCF for Dual Wield like you mentioned, and that's erroring. I do only see it once though, and typically an error that would remove the gizmos or prevent you from undrafting would be on every tick. You'd usually see something like "suppressed other errors, see Ref for original."

So, try disabling EnableOversizedWeapons, MVCF Dual Wield, and whatever mod is giving the hunting gizmo. Do those one by one to see if the errors go away.

I just tested with the Zombie Joris, and had no issues undrafting it. The gizmo stays there and I get no errors. I sounds like a mod conflict. Do you have anything that gives animals equipment or modifies animals in any way?

Since I need to view these on a case-by-case basis, please let me know what mod the animal comes from, so I can debug it with that animal specifically. I'm not completely versed with what's in the base game, so if not from a mod, mention that it's from the base game.
