BalticsArmyGeneralGermanyChange

描述
Warning: this mod introduces changes only for the German side. As such, it should not be considered balanced (the Germans enjoy an overwhelming advantage).
My intent was to release the German changes first for two reasons:

1. Those who want to play as Germany in an easy campaign, with the sole goal of destroying as many Soviet divisions as possible, can do so with this mod in the Baltics.
We're all tired of facing the usual spam of Russian regiments — maybe someone would enjoy the chance to have fun with an overpowering force!

2. More importantly, I'm releasing these changes to german divisions first to receive feedback, understand how they behave in-game, and fix any potential issues.
So let me know what you think!

That said, the concept behind the mod remains the following, which will appear in the finalized version — once Soviet divisions are also reworked.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This mod, like the others I’ve published, aims to completely rework the theme of Army General campaigns.
This one in particular focuses on the Burning Baltics campaign. It features the following changes:

1. The duration of the battle has been largely increased, identically to the previous mods;

2. Almost all German regiments have been strengthened;

3. All supply vehicles have been modified to increase their capacity. This was done to compensate for the extended battle duration.

In this mod, I specifically tried to focus on a few key aspects.
First of all, I aimed to make the regiments in the deployment more diverse by including units of all kinds. For example, along the northern coast I deployed units from the German navy; in the north I added Skijäger-type battalions; and in the south I distinguished between LSSAH, Gebirgs, and Grossdeutschland troops.

In addition, as previously suggested by feedbacks — and as I hope I’ve managed to implement — the regiments have been made more... specialized.
Where a standard infantry division used to have an excessive amount of anti-air and anti-tank assets (I mean, in my previous mods), now these roles are handled by dedicated regiments. (Of course, a varied assortment of weapons can still be found in Panzergrenadier regiments, which were historically that versatile)

This approach aims to highlight every aspect of warfare during that period: to win a battle — which now lasts longer and requires more map control — you’ll need the right combination of infantry, artillery, and armor.

I also tried to solve a problem I encountered in my previous mod: I had included too many anti-air units, making aircraft virtually useless.
In this mod, only a few regiments have access to AA, so managing them wisely becomes essential.

Finally, I tried to make underused regiments more appealing — specifically those with two or three battalions composed mostly of disheartened units — by making them the only ones with access to air units!
So even if a battle takes place within an “AA bubble” created by an anti-air regiment, it’s still possible to field aircraft — provided you're using those divisions! The player will also notice how those regiments serve as a support group, wtih commander units and supply vehicles.

And now, let’s talk about the campaign itself.
When creating this mod, my goal was to emphasize the strategic aspect of gameplay. The German regiments in the northeast have not been significantly strengthened, and I intentionally ensured that the Soviets hold a clear advantage in that area.
This forces the German player to manage limited resources wisely in that region, as the simple fall of Riga results in defeat.
On the other hand, the Germans have numerical superiority in the western sector, from which they must quickly advance — fighting through numerous Soviet defensive divisions — to reach the isolated and encircled eastern front.

The advantage in terms of armored units and manpower for the Germans is enough to defeat any Soviet regiment — but what really matters is speed and efficiency.

As usual, I link here my other mods. First, the Baranovitchi AG changes:

Then, the Vistula AG mod:

And finally the Vistula AG mod that features changes only for the German side:

devs put some effort researching battle group compositions from the German side which are more or less correct, but forgot to do so for the USSR side. A typical infrantry division size (entire, not just frontline troops) for those soviet divisions participating in the baltics campaign was around 2800-3000 men, while german ones had 9-10k men per division. And here devs put all soviet rifle regiments to 1.3k men which is insane.
Instead of buffing up German side, it would be great just to nerf soviet infantry sizes, it would be much more realistic

I don't think an update is coming. I am unable to update them through the easy way: what I have to do is remake every individual change from my previous work in the files, which have been changed by the last update of the game. I seriously think that it is a loss of time: it took me months to come up with my mods and redoing them from scratch, with the certainty that the next update to the game will make them unusable, prevents me from having a single bit of desire to mod again.

I have a question separate from this mod? Do you know how or are are you able to make a mode the increases the CP amount in army general? There was mod that did it some two years ago but it vanished, haven't seen a mod similar since. I can't figure how to mod this game myself.

Unfortunately guys, since a new army general campaign has been added to the game, I'm not able to update the mod: that is because the files that I manipulated have been radically changed. As for now I fear I have to redo from scratch the changes: I will let you know
