Age of Gunpowder

A mod overhauling the dynamic of the battlefield, creating a more matchlock and spear oriented battlefield over the katanas and bows.

Gone are the Katanas being your best units, now they're your cheap alternatives if you ever need something decent.


- Most unit sizes have been increased, whether it be from melee or ranged units.


+ Reduced Upkeep and cost of most sword units
+ No Dachi samurai now given bonus against cavalry
+ Mori Wako Raiders now can be recruited from the get go
- Significantly decreased stats, making them worse than Yari Infantry



+ Increased Stats all around
+ Yari Samurai are now the proper frontline they are meant to be, while Naginata Samurai are elite Specialists
+ The Long Oda Yari Ashigaru no longer needs an encampment for recruitment
- No Yari Wall for Yari Samurai or Naginata Samurai



+ Spear Cavalry Stats are increased (Light and Yari)
+ Significantly Increased Charge Bonuses
+ All Cavalry Speed are now equal, and are faster
- Katana Cavalry stats decreased


+ Increased melee stats to make them comparable to katana samurai for bow samurai
+ Heavily buffed reload speed, making them shoot insanely quick
- Same range as matchlocks, who will demolish them


UNIT TYPES TO RECEIVE THE MOST CHANGES
+ MUCH EASIER TO RECRUIT IN CAMPAIGN NOW, NEEDING ONLY POWDER MAKER FOR SAMURAI, AND STRATEGY OF ATTACK FOR ASHIGARU
+ Stat increases all throughout for the matchlock units
+ All matchlock units have Kneel fire and all ranks fire ability
+ All matchlocks range increased to 150, hero being 200
+ All matchlocks now reload much faster with the exception of heavy gunners being slower
+ Truthfully, you won't need an army composition with this mod, just use matchlocks and maybe some cavalry
- Pretty much breaks the entire balance of the game


+ Uses Oda Long Yari Ashigaru spears
+ Best used in defensive situations
- Higher upkeep than regular yari samurai
- Vulnerable to missile fire
-Not available to the Ikko Ikki (for now)


+ Kisho Ninja training
+ High reload, accuracy and range
+ Decent charge bonus and melee stats
- Lowest non-hero matchlock unit count
- Low ammo count

+ Imported from Tokugawa Mounted Gunners
+ Tokugawa Mounted Gunners buffed, while base are slightly nerfed

+ Imported from Date bulletproof Samurai
+ Date have an improved version compared to regular

Do not mind Pistoleers use Colts, I do not know how to model unfortunately
+ High Reload Stat
+ Capable of Killing Quickly
- Very Vulnerable
- Lower Range to most Missile Units

+ Higher accuracy
+ Higher range
- Higher upkeep
- Lower unit count than Matchlock Samurai

+ Unit replaces the Portuguese Tercos, even for Otomo
+ Relatively the same as this mod's Portuguese Tercos
- Higher upkeep and cost than Portuguese Tercos
