描述
This mod adds 2 shield blocks with 1x1x1 size, which can be easily used by NPC mods as shield providers.

This is intended to go along with the following shield framework and the default values are the same as with the Midnight Shield Systems.

The mod generates Shields.xml in the world storage, so the user can easily balance the NPC shield strengths.



NPC Provider uses the replacer automatically and if your spawn config has shield replacer enabled, it will use it.

MES can work with this replacer as well, but you have to either run the following command:
/MES.Settings.Grids.GlobalBlockReplacerProfiles.Add.MES-Replacement-NerdShields
or add the "MES-Replacement-NerdShields" to the Config-Grids.xml - GlobalReplenishmentProfiles list manually.


PS: THE MOD DOES NOT ADD SHIELDS BY ITSELF, IT ONLY ADDS SHIELD BLOCKS WHICH OTHER MODS CAN USE

As for my thoughts on the matter, while it meant more work for me, (I had to code the methods in the provider in such a way that it could properly react to all three shield systems) I am always a fan of redundancy. Having three shield systems (there is fourth, but that runs without any blocks, so I did not make any integration into the provider) ensures that when something happens, and one of them is not usable anymore, we still have something else to fall back to. We do have something similar with the weapon mods, as there are couple of smaller frameworks next to the WeaponCore.

kurama, I am not the author of the shield mentioned above, I only made this mod to help my NPC Provider mod (and possibly others?) with shield replacer blocks. NPC Provider supports Defense Shields, Energy Shields, Deflector Shields and Nerd's Shields (this submod, being the replacer variant for the Nerd's Shields)

I've been following your mods closely, and first of all, I just want to say—I really, really like them! You've done an awesome job.

That said, I do have a bit of feedback or maybe more of a question. Specifically about the shield mod: we already have a very configurable and well-integrated shield system that's supported by frameworks like MES and WeaponCore. Both of those already hook into the existing shield mod quite well.

So I’m wondering about the need to maintain a new or separate shield system alongside those. It feels like a lot to ask for this new one to also integrate with all those frameworks on top of what’s already there.

I hope I’m making sense here—I’d really love to hear your thoughts on this
