Zoid's Goblin Xenotypes

描述


This mod adds three 'Gobben' xenos to rimworld, and two factions!







Abrasive
Forces the carrier of this gene to have the abrasive trait


Poor Clotting
The carrier of this gene has thinner than average blood, causing faster bleeding rate


Terrible Clotting
The carrier of this gene has very thin blood, causing a very fast bleeding rate


Goblin Frame
The carrier of this gene has less dense muscle fibers and skeletal structure, causing reduced mass and overall size (75%)
(Requires Vanilla expanded framework)


Guroc Frame
The carrier of this gene has increased density in their muscle fibers and skeletal structure, causing greater mass and overall size (125%)
(Requires Vanilla expanded framework)


Goblin Hands
Carriers of this gene have nimble hands able to reach into tight spaces, giving them better fine motor ability


Guroc Hands
Carriers of this gene have large stubby hands, reducing their ability to do fine motor skills.


Gobben Nose
Carriers of this gene have a pronounced flared nose, increasing air flow to the lungs


Gobben Teeth
Carriers of this gene have a sharp teeth, with highly developed canines


Goblin Ears
Carriers of this gene have long, pointed ears


Groblin Ears
Carriers of this gene have wide, proud ears


Guroc Ears
Carriers of this gene have disproportionately diminished sloped ears


Goblin Head
Carriers of this gene have high cheek bones, pointed chins, and wide heads


Groblin Head
Carriers of this gene have sharp cheek bones, stoic facial features, and wide heads


Guroc Head
Carriers of this gene have sloped faces, jagged chins, and wide heads

Factions

Both factions consist of a 40-40-20 split of gobs, grobs, and guros. Both are of industrial tech level. One is neutral, the other is hostile.

Overall my goal was the make the xenos feel more "human-esque" than some of the other options available for gobbos.

Made the mod for personal use, figured I'd upload it. I'll likely revamp the page here and improve the mod when I have more time. For now though, as far as I can tell it works well enough

Known issues
-Character editor breaks the gendered heads when changing the pawns gender. Reapply the xenotype to fix, I'll look into a fix.
-Likely some typos and descriptions need worked out.

Whenever a Goblin appears they're all invisible. I have Vanilla Expanded Framework and Humanoid Alien Races, so In dunno what the issue is.

@神说万岁 Well if I'm honest I don't play or know much about DND, nor does it have too much interest to me. These goblins are the semblance of my own personal goblin knowledge. In totality, most of my ideas about goblin type creatures is based on Tolkien, though orcs are a more or less uniform race in of themselves there are subsets like the uruk-hai or the smaller orcs seen in the Peter Jackson films. These form the bulk of my personal inspiration for the xenotypes. To a smaller extent media I watched or played as a kid like Adventure Time or Dungeon defenders also I'm sure helped to shape my ideas regarding goblinoids. You're more than welcome to make a patch or modify your own copy as you see fit, after all that is the purpose of modding.

Perhaps all the goblin subspecies content from DND can be added to this mod instead of calling all species goblins?

@ShadowEater25, as of now I don't think that's the direction I want to go with the mod, the design goal for me was to be relatively closely tied to vanilla mechanics. But as I mentioned if that's something you are looking for I bet that somebody has mods for that sort of thing.

I'll also add that base goblins have been balanced to be more numerous, fertile, faster gestation, etc to make up for their lacking combat ability. As I view it, goblins can be warriors, it just takes more of them and likely ones that are particularly skilled as such. I do appreciate the feedback though.

@ShadowEater25 Not from this mod, no. I'm pretty sure there are other mods that could facilitate something like that, but this mod utilizes the base game xenotype system. Ie. if a goblin and a groblin have children their child will likely be a mix of the two.

is there a way for one caste of goblins to produce a diffrent caste? or are they considered diffrent races? because I like the idea of there being many small goblins that reproduce a lot and sometimes make warrier castes
