Xml files are subject to a change. This will always work no matter what

I don't think you need to do this by overriding the dds files?

All the console files are in:

\Steam\steamapps\common\NWN2 Enhanced Edition\ui\default\enhanced\gamepad_prompts

I think you just need to change this xml:

gamepad_prompts.xml

?
