SimpleStairs (Fork)

This is a fork of the original "SimpleStairs" mod for RimWorld, updated to support version 1.6.

As of RimWorld 1.6, the placingDraggableDimensions XML element used in 1.5 is no longer supported. It has been superseded by drawStyleCategory, which should be used to specify the visual and interaction style of placeable objects.



📦 Differences from the Original Mod

  • placingDraggableDimensions has been replaced by drawStyleCategory to control object placement and visual behavior.



📌 Notes

  • This is not an official update by the original author.
  • This is a simple update for 1.6 compatibility.
  • The mod should be safe to use in existing saves, but always back up your game just in case.

@Shrimpanzee - that is throwing error for me about invalid config (combination of parameters nov valid for Impassable). I updated pathCost to higher number, which solved it for me.

@Shrimpanzee - awesome, thanks - i came looking to see if anyone had noted a fix.

@BilloJDahka - place floors down first then install the handrails, you will have floors under after - that's how i've been fixing it .

are y'all able to place floors under the handrails, it looks so weird without floors under them?

If you want the handrails and stuff to be impassable:
1. Open mod folder, go to 1.6, go to Defs
2. Edit the SimpleStairs.xml document (use whatever, I did in notepad)
3. Control + F and edit everything that says "PassThroughOnly" and replace that with "Impassable)

The final line should look like: <passability>Impassable</passability>
After this everything but the stairs should be impassable

Is there any way to make the handrails impassable? My colonists just climbing up the floors kinda kills the illusion unfortunately.
